Challenge
Wollondilly Shire Council (Council) engaged SLR to provide project management resources to assist in delivering several major planning studies and road infrastructure projects. Several of these projects were grant funded or under strict time constraints which would not have been achievable with Council鈥檚 limited internal resources.
Solution
SLR鈥檚 project team comprised highly experienced technical professionals who had prior experience of working on relevant projects in Wollondilly Shire.
SLR was heavily involved in securing Federal funding for the upgrading of Silverdale Road in the north of Wollondilly Shire, through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Program (WSIP). This project comprised design and investigation of upgrades to nearly seven kilometres of rural road with an extensive crash history.
SLR鈥檚 duties included the procurement and management of design consultants for concept and detailed design packages, attendance at monthly project control group meetings and various stakeholder and community engagement activities. Other services provided by SLR under this engagement included preparation of detailed precinct studies for Tahmoor and Warragamba and updates to Council鈥檚 shire-wide strategic transport model and Active Transport Strategy.
